Custom Home on North End Sells for $11.6 Million

A deed recorded Monday showed that Jim McCann, longtime Palm Beach Island real estate agent, and his wife, Sara, an interior designer, sold the custom home they built on Palm Beach’s North End ten years ago, for $11.6 million. The sale was first reported by the Palm Beach Daily News.

The deed shows that Charles D. and Dianne E. Sammons of Rye, N.Y. bought the five-bedroom home, which is located at 324 Garden Road. The couple was represented in the sale by agent Maureen R. Woodward of Brown Harris Stevens, according to the Palm beach Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service.

The Bermuda-style house has 8,120 square feet of living space inside and out according to the sales listing agent Rosalind Clarke of Premier Estate Properties prepared. Clarke is a colleague of McCann’s at the agency’s Worth Avenue office.

Jim McCann helped his agency open the Worth Avenue office early last year, and he is president of the Palm beach Board of Realtors.

Sara McCann owns multiple West Palm Beach-based business including HIVE, a home furnishings store, and McCann Design Group, her interior design studio.

The McCanns are longtime residents of Palm Beach. The deed lists their address as another house on the North End, 217 Bahama Lane.

An online search showed that the Sammonses own no other property in Palm Beach under their name.

The North End house was built for the McCanns by architect Thomas Kirchhoff, Benitz Building and landscape and design firm Nievera Williams Design, and was completed in 2010.

Clarke had the house listed at $12.9 million in the Palm Beach Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service. The furnishings were for sale through separate negotiations but it is unclear if the Sammonses bought them.

“We’ll miss the house,” Sara McCann said of the Garden Road home. “We’ve hosted friends and family in lots of gatherings, and we have so many great memories associated with the house.”
