Food Review Meat Market Palm Beach, It’s Hot!
It’s easy to understand why the Meat Market in Palm Beach is not only one of Palm Beach’s hottest spots but is considered one of the top restaurants in South Florida. It’s a winner from the minute you enter the door. There is a chic bar and lounge area that provides a less formal but very comfortable option for dinning or just drinks. The lounge area features a mixed set of cozy setting arrangements perfect for a small or large gathering.
The dining room is warm and welcoming, yet incredibly glamorous, especially with ambiance created by the floating glass lighting pendants dangling from the high ceilings. There is a brass link chain that is cleverly and stylishly used as a divider between the bar and dining room but still provides plenty of opportunity to people watch from both ends.
For starters, the shrimp cocktail is a must-try. These massive sized crustaceans are delicately poached in beer and served with a choice a sauces such a miso, cocktail and spicy remoulade – we tried all three and they were delicious.
Also, the white truffle “American style Kobe” tartare is delectable and there is always an excellent choice of oysters by the piece.
As far as the steak is concerned, there is an array of options. I have dined here on a number of occasions and my two favorites are the porterhouse and the tomahawk, which we requested sliced for sharing. There are so many creative sauces and steak butters such as black truffle butter, boursin butter, marrow butter and au poivre, just to name a few.
Another delicious option is the cedar paper Scottish salmon which is delicate and flavorful.
Typical to any good steak house, their signature side dishes will not disappoint. I highly recommend the mac and cheese, the lobster mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach.

As for the desserts, there is a grown-up version of spiked milk and cookies with an alcohol component that you can’t miss! It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience.
The service was terrific. From the moment you walk into the door the hostess, bartenders and servers were friendly, informed and attentive.
While the Meat Market is a wonderful dining spot, there is a terrific happy hour with drink discounts and later on, the lounge is a popular gathering place featuring a live D.J. on certain nights. It is definitely one of the more happening spots on the island.
