Town of Palm Beach National Night Out Against Crime

Every year the The Town of Palm Beach Police Department hosts a National Night Out Against Crime for the Town of Palm Beach community. This event is meant to bring awareness to all of the major crime threats in the community.

Families and residents have the opportunity to meet with their Public Safety Officers, Fire Rescue, and civilian teams during the Town of Palm Beach National Night Out Against Crime. The event will take place on August 4th from 5p.m.-7p.m. in the Parish Hall of St. Edwards.

There will be several safety displays for demonstrations of equipment used to prevent crime and new technology that first responders on the Island use. There will be police boats and fire trucks for children to explore and experience how they work to protect their community.

Several popular items will be returning to the Night Out Against Crime for Town of Palm Beach residents to utilize. The digital fingerprinting is a big hit for parents and with the older crowd blood pressure screening is popular. The Palm Beach Police department showcase their confiscated weapons for residents to view.

Not only are physical crimes being highlighted at this event, but also ways to prevent getting caught in scams, avoiding identity theft, and local Town codes will be addressed. In attendance will be the Code and Parking Enforcement Unit to answer questions about codes within the Town of Palm Beach and ways to safeguard against any violations. There will also be members of the 9-1-1 Communications Staff, the Crisis Intervention Team, Juvenile Officers, and Chief Assistant State Attorney Brian L. Fernandes will all be there to answer questions and concerns.

Children can have their faces painted by local vendors after exploring the fire trucks and getting souvenir photos from a photo booth. There will be food provided by PDQ, Amici’s Pizza, and Italian Ices for all residents to enjoy.

This event will be enlightening and fun for all ages. The Town of Palm Beach prides itself on being a safe place for all residents and visitors. Palm Beach Crime Watch is sponsoring the event and hopes to see many on Tuesday, August 4th at the 2015 Town of Palm Beach National Night Out Against Crime.
