Palm Beach Society of the Four Arts Renovations
The Palm Beach Society of the Four Arts is located on the corner of the Royal Palm Bridge and Royal Palm Road in the beautiful Town of Palm Beach. The Palm Beach Society of the Four Arts is a historic venue for cultural events. The organization is vital to the social scene of the Town of Palm Beach, because it presents a variety of speakers, concerts, and other art events to the public. However, The Society of Four Arts is now under pressure from their visitors due to the constant traffic on location. In the past few seasons, many have attributed the congestion to a lack of valet parking.
A solution is now currently under discussion. Officials of the organization are planning to convert unused lawn space into 26 valet parking spots. There will be a special plastic protecting the grass north of the O’Keefe Building. This modification will not only provide more valet parking spaces, but also be considerate of surrounding establishments and their landscaping.
This plan will prevent the congestion that occurs at the entrance of the O’Keefe Building before an event begins. Additional asphalt will not be included, and there will be no alterations to the foliage of the venue. All of the changes are not dramatic, but rather subtle improvements to the event space.
The Society of Four Arts has received unofficial approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The proposal is expected to obtain official approval from the Town Council this month, and then be passed on to the Landmarks Preservation for a final revision.
Representatives from the organization are hopeful that the $250,000 project will be completed by January 2016, as that is the the beginning of their season. The additional valet spots will make the venue more accessible to residents of the Town of Palm Beach. Patrons of the organization are now anxiously anticipating the final results.
