According to Town Hall records, he new owner, whose identity was not available in the information about the sale posted of the Palm Beach County Clerk’s website, has already made plans to demolish the beachfront house.

Late owner of the property Mary Hulitar stipulated that net proceeds from the sale of her estate should benefit charitable and cultural organizations through the Hulitar Family Foundation, which she established.

The house, which was built in 1948, was originally designed by the firm of noted architect Marion Sims Wyeth. Over the years, the Hutilars remodeled and expanded the home.

Early last year the Landmarks Commission refused to grant the property landmark protection, and the Architectural Commission approved its demolition late last month.

Hutilar and her late husband Philip Hutilar, who was a fashion designer as well as artist, bought the house in 1971. Mary Hutilar was also an artist, and died in June 2017 at 90, about 15 years after the death of her husband. She is survived by two daughters.
