Broadway Producer Terry Allen Kramer Dies

Palm Beach Grande Dame Terry Allen Kramer passed away on Thursday in New York City, as first reported by T&C

Kramer was a legendary Broadway producer and East Coast social fixture. When Kramer’s Palm Beach estate was offered for sale last year, it was listed at $135 million, making it the most expensive property ever listed.

Chloë Goutal, Kramer’s granddaughter, wrote on Instagram: “Rest in peace granny, there will never been another like you.” Goutal is a jewelry designer.

Kramer was known for her Florida tan, husky voice, and blond hair.

“She was the grande dame of Palm Beach,” said Nikki Haskell, who had known her since the 1970s. “She was very feisty, very colorful, and everybody who was anybody went to her parties.”

Kramer’s close friends included Joan Collins and Denise Rick. Kramer was divorced twice, and had a daughter, Toni, and a son, Nathaniel. She is also survived by seven grandchildren. Towards the end of her life, Kramer was romantically linked to American actor George Hamilton, whose tan rivaled her own.

One of the most exclusive events in the Palm Beach fall season was Kramer’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Lo Follia, her 13-bedroom, 37,516-square foot mansion that featured views of the ocean as well as the intracoastal waterway.

Ivana Trump, a nearby neighbor of Kramer’s on Palm Beach’s “Billionaires’ Row,” became a regular visitor after her divorce from Donald Trump.

Friends reacting to Kramer’s passing remember her as a society powerhouse with a big personality. They say she wasn’t afraid to make her presence known.

“She wielded a big stick, socially,” said one Palm Beach neighbor, who declined to be identified by name. “She was great to her friends, but you wouldn’t want to be her enemy.”

While visiting the Bahamas last month, Kramer reportedly fell ill with what one friend believes was pneumonia. She was placed in a medically-induced coma and never recovered.
