New Town of Palm Beach Website
The Town of Palm Beach’s online presence takes on a new look with a new website, and will continue to strengthen with a new mobile app coming soon.
After undergoing a website redesign back in 2013, The Town was due another site upgrade at no additional cost. Town officials decided to exercise that option, with hopes of creating a web experience that is easier to navigate for site visitors.
The Town of Palm Beach Town Council approved of the upgrades at a previewing of the site during their January 9th meeting. Council member Julie Araskog stated, “I think it’s going to be far easier and more accessible for all the different things in the town.”
When the upgrade rolled out on January 11th, the site had undergone minimal changes, as officials were looking to avoid disruption of what regular site visitors have grown accustomed to. As stated in the Palm Beach Daily News, Deputy Town Manager Jay Boodheshwar said, “We didn’t want it to be so different that it was difficult to use.” The goal was to improve in areas that would allow for it. Adding, “We wanted to make it a little bit easier to use.”

The high traffic buttons have been moved to the center of the homepage, while the drop-down menu selections remain on the site banner at the top. Other site features still include: sharing options, online payments, email subscriptions, alerts and “Tell the Town” form for submitting public record. For added convenience, site pages can also be translated into other languages, by enabling Google Translation at the very bottom right-hand corner. The site is available in both desktop and mobile site versions.

Last year alone, the site had over 600,000 hits, which could be accredited to The Town’s increasing social media activity. By the end of the 2018, it plans to launch a mobile app making it a full-blown, technologically-advanced government entity.
