Storms Forecast Friday in Palm Beach County
Several showers and storms are forecast for this Friday into Friday night, along with a strong cold front that is excepted to sweep through the state followed by drier air, as first reported by the Palm Beach Daily News.
All of Florida is at risk for some severe weather with Palm Beach County at a marginal threat level on the Storm Prediction Center’s concern scale.
Storms predicted for last week in never materialized as a result of heavy cloud cover over Palm Beach County. However, forecasts are not currently calling for the same kind of tempering ahead of this Friday’s front.
The National Weather Service in Miami said that the warm, upper-80s April weather on Friday will allow plenty of turbulence in the atmosphere to incite afternoon storms.
Storms Forecast Friday in Palm Beach County
Overhead, a jet of air moving at almost 60 mph will further add to the chances of showers and even a few strong to severe storms.
“At the very least, expect numerous showers and storms to develop during the day on Friday in the environment ahead of the frontal boundary, with a more coherent band moving through ahead of or with the front itself into Friday night,” meteorologists in Miami wrote in a morning forecast.
Forecasters in Melbourne said that hall, dangerous straight-line winds and even an isolated tornado are possible as squall lines move through.

Drier and cooler air is expected to move in following Friday’s storms. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be most sunny with highs near 80 degrees and overnight lows reaching into the low 60s.
Palm Beach County is also currently expected to have at least a moderate risk of rip currents on Friday.
