Zoning Chairman Martin Klein to Run for Town Council
Zoning chairman Martin Klein announced his candidacy for the Group 2 Town Council seat which is currently held by Michael Pucillo. Via letter, Klein revealed his hope of succeeding Pucillo, who has “set the bar high for civility and dedication.” As he explained, it is his mission to ensure all residents are welcome in the Town Hall, and his goal is to pass on a better Town of Palm Beach to the next generation – talking primarily about his daughter Michele.
Besides being the Town of Palm Beach Planning and Zoning Commission’s Chairman during the last two terms and serving in the P&Z board for almost 15 years, Klein also served on the Town’s Code Enforcement Board and Palm Beach County Land Development and Regulation Advisory Board. He’s a Florida attorney and maintains an office on Worth Avenue.
As he stated, his family is a 4th generation Palm Beach family, although Klein himself grew up in New York. As someone who built his own house in 1988 he claims to understand the North End’s residents and the concerns they may have.
He addressed some of the concerns about the numerous Town of Palm Beach projects, stating he hopes that in the future the town will do a better job of planning and scheduling the work, so not everything is done at the same time.

Klein also mentioned protecting the town’s beaches, financial health and public safety as some of the key issues he would be tackling.
What Klein emphasized most was the importance of working united, and how much he would need everyone’s cooperation in order to build upon the work of Pucillo and his council. He stated that there is no dividing line at Sloan’s curve and that the guiding principle for the residents should be to “never be disagreeable to each other”.
