White Mercedes Crashes Into Town of Palm Beach Pole
On the evening of last Friday, a Town of Palm Beach police officer, who was on patrol along South Ocean Blvd, encountered a light pole which had fallen over and on to the street.
Upon inspection of the video surveillance footage, it was discovered that the pole had collapsed when a white Mercedes had crashed in to it; after carelessly driving off of the road and before haphazardly leaving the scene of the accident.
The late night fiasco has cost the Town of Palm Beach over $20,000 in damages (which includes the light post itself, as well as all of the surveillance equipment that was attached to it) and, according to Palm Beach police, there has not been any recent developments in the case; which has since been handed over to the Palm Beach Risk Management office, who works “under the direction of the deputy town manager”.
