Town of Palm Beach Crime Reports

These past few weeks, two criminal instances occurred in the Town of Palm Beach. Both of these instances involved alcohol.

According to Palm Beach Daily News, a New Jersey man had “assaulted” a bartender by “smacking her arm” at a bar in the Town of Palm Beach. When Town police came to arrest the man, named Joseph Rogers, he refused to get in the police car.  Rogers was “verbally abusive” towards the officers and acted “aggressively” in the bar according to the police report. The incident occurred in Cucina, which is located on Royal Poinciana Way.

Rogers was charged with “misdemeanor charges of battery, disorderly intoxication and obstructing an officer without violence,” as reported by Palm Beach Daily News.

Keith Alan McGovern, of Loxahatchee, was arrested on “misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana under 20 grams,” according to the Palm Beach this past Thursday.

McGovern, according to Palm Beach Daily News, there was “blood on his hands,” as well as a knife in his glove compartment. According to the report, he was stopped on Ocean Blvd. He was acting “emotional and erratic,” according to the report. He was stopped for not having tag lights.

McGovern claimed that the blood on his hands was from an “argument with his mother-in-law.” The cops did a welfare check on his family and concluded their were no injuries to his family. When McGovern was taken to jail, he “blew twice the legal alcohol limit of 0.08 percent.” When he was asked whether he taken any drugs, he told the cops “not enough.”

McGovern also made bomb jokes regarding his car. Recently, a man in Florida was caught with mailing “suspicious packages” and had sent them to Democratic figures such as George Soros, the Obamas and the Clintons, among others. McGovern had also made comments regarding Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to the cops that pulled him over.
