Town of Palm Beach Philanthropy Runs Deep

It is no secret that the Town of Palm Beach Philanthropy scene has residents with deep pockets, but plenty of residents do not see the philanthropic practices of those residents of Palm Beach since many of them do things anonymously. From Galas to clothing drives the charitable way of life is one Town of Palm Beach residents are well aware of.

Last week, part-time residents Marie-Josee and Henry Kravis  who are well known for their foundational efforts in South Florida as well as in New York City, gave $100 million donation to Rockefeller University  Mr. Kravis sits on the Board of the Trustees of the University.

The generous donation will be used for a research center at the University, which specializes in biological sciences, scientific discovery, and medical science. Some may recognize the last name Kravis, from the renowned Kravis Center for Performing Arts that was started by his late father. The Kravis family has long been a philanthropic leader in South Florida as well as in New York.

Two local organizations that continually work to enhance community service in Palm Beach is the Junior League of Palm Beach and the Town of Palm Beach United Way. Prominent philanthropists of the community lead each of the organizations and holds large-scale events and charitable promotions led by the Town.

The Town of Palm Beach United Way recently held their School Supply Drive, where they fill shoeboxes on shoeboxes of school supplies to be donated to local Elementary schools in West Palm Beach. The youth division of the Town of Palm Beach United Way organized it with every shoebox donation residents were entered into various raffles. Many local business and organizations also participated.

The Junior League of Palm Beach holds not only events for residents but many programs to outreach to the community and surrounding communities. They lend not only their personal funds but also their time to local charities that need volunteers in any capacity.
